Secured by Design (SBD) is a Police-run initiative that was setup with the aim of enhancing the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings so that they’re safer places to live.

SBD’s product-based accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification – symbolises that a product meets the sufficient standard of security and can discourage and decrease crime. This includes domestic windows and doors, and the components within them such as locks, hinges etc.

If you include an egress hinge in our French doors, they can do that, which is handy if you want to gain the best possible garden view through them.

If there is enough of an opening at the back of your property, you could fill it with bi-folding doors or sliding patio doors to give you the option of opening the house and exposing it to the outdoors. You will be left with a full opening with a bi-fold as it can fold back completely. The slimline profile in our sliding patio doors ensures you of an unrestricted view whether they’re open or shut.
